Green Bay Took Eddie Lacy of Alabama, Three Picks After Denver Went With Montee Ball

Eddie Lacy was the one back that some thought might go into the late first round. None were drafted there, the first time since 1963. Three other backs went before Lacy. Just three picks before Green Bay made the selection, Denver also took a running back, but opted for Montee Ball and his touchdown productivity instead. Lacy was out of shape at his pro day, which clearly scared off some teams. He’s going to just about as good a situation as possible. Green Bay has not had a 100 yard rusher in 43 games and counting, and had a non-existent running game. Eddie Lacy is great value at 61st overall.
