Russell Westbrook Needs Surgery For Meniscus Tear in Knee, No Timetable For Return [VIDEO]

russell westbrook v spursRussell Westbrook, the explosive Oklahoma City point guard, has been sidelined with a meniscus tear in his knee, and he needs surgery to repair it. There’s no timetable for his return, the team announced. Westbrook has never missed a game in his five seasons in the NBA.

The Thunder lead the Rockets 2-0, but this completely opens up the Western Conference playoff race. And you know the first thing people will say if the Thunder manage to get bounced by Houston or even in the next round by the Clippers/Grizzlies – this is why you shouldn’t have traded James Harden.

Westbrook put up 19-10-8 in a game one win over the Rockets; he scored 29 points (on 26 shots) in the game two victory. I guess this means Reggie Jackson, the second year point guard from Boston College, will take over at point guard.
