Diamondbacks short stop Didi Gregorius took a high fastball from Rockies pitcher Josh Outman to the side of the batting helmet. Gregorius didn’t even have time to react and drop before the ball got to him. He was able to get up and walk off under his own power although he did have a contusion on his right temple.
Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said that Gregorius passed the written test with flying colors and that he showed no neurological problems but that a CT scan was ordered as a precautionary measure.
