Adreian Payne Returning for Senior Season at Michigan State

Michigan State junior forward Adreian Payne will return for his senior year, a move that immediately solidifies the Spartans as Big Ten — and possibly national — title contenders.
At 6-foot-10, Payne displayed a nice shooting touch from the outside during the second half of last season, averaging 10.5 points and 7.6 rebounds. He joins guard Gary Harris, who also contemplated entering the NBA draft, in his decision to return to East Lansing.
Tom Izzo’s squad loses just one contributing player (Derrick Nix). TBL hypothesized a top-5 preseason ranking if both Harris and Payne came back. Now we’ll get a chance to see if he’s correct.
