LeRon Ellis, a former Kentucky & Syracuse basketball player in the late 80s/early 90s, who later had a cup of coffee in the NBA, was arrested in February for DUI and took this
forgettable memorable mugshot. For reasons unknown, the mugshot has only surfaced now. Sure, it has been 20 years since Ellis in the NBA, but he’s only 43 years old in this mugshot. Dude looks beat.
he was spotted driving 50 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to Glendale police. His license plate lamplight also wasn’t working, which was a violation, police said.
Ellis, who officers said appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
Ellis, 43, of Glendale, was arrested a short time later, as was his passenger, Daniel Lingua, 43, of Los Angeles, who had a vial of cocaine in his pants pocket, according to police.
Sounds like quite a night. This is probably the most stunning sports-related mugshot since Georgetowtn’s Victor Page posed for one wearing an eyepatch. [Glendale News Press]
