Greatest alley-oop of all-time? Minus points for it not being in-game, but the complicated soccer pass certainly ups the degree of difficulty. According to the description that’s “Pat The Roc” kicking it to “G. Smith” at the CRL Good Life Foundation Game.
I’m not going to try to go through a list of the greatest oops ever (that would be stupid), but I’ll quickly mention the last two seasons of Lob City, Shawn Kemp’s career, Gerald Green’s in-game windmill alley-oop and the fact that Isiah Thomas used to throw bounce-pass oops in games. Other than that? I’m listening.
A couple more soccer-style oops for comparison’s sake. Louisville’s Gorgui Dieng kicked an oop to Ed Daniel last summer. Obviously less complicated, but extra points because Dieng is 6’11″.
Also, Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire connected on a header alley-oop a few All-Star weekends ago.
