Ohio State Recruit Vonn Bell Claims God Told Him To Play For The Buckeyes

Vonn Bell

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer raided SEC country, landing five-star safety Vonn Bell from Georgia for his 2013 class. According to Bell, Meyer got an assist from the man upstairs.

“I didn’t really have any secrets. I kept everything all open with everybody. But about the biggest secret was probably keeping it secret (about Ohio State) until signing day. The first two days (before signing day), I just woke up out of my dreams. Me and God just had a conversation. He said ‘I want you go to Ohio State.’ Then I just knew ever since then. That was probably the longest time I ever kept a secret, those two days.”

No word yet on whether God was really E. Gordon Gee on a jet pack hovering outside Bell’s bedroom window.  Meyer, notably, was accused of deploying Big G to keep Shariff Floyd in his 2010 class at Florida.
