Andrew Wiggins, the Best High School Basketball Player Since LeBron, will descend from the firmament Tuesday at 12:15 and make his college decision. It is the best-kept secret since the Manhattan Project. The reason everyone thinks Florida State is because his dad was a star there; the reason everyone else thinks Kentucky is because … Kentucky. Kansas and North Carolina are thought to be fringe contenders.

When I posted my Top 25 for next season, I had Kentucky 1st, with or without the 6-foot-7 Wiggins. With him, you will definitely hear some undefeated talk, and it’ll be a subplot of the season. If Wiggins goes to Florida State, I’d assume they’ll have a year similar to what Kevin Durant did during his pit-stop at Texas – very good regular season, eye-popping numbers, but probably not able to make a deep March run on his own. Wiggins is a mortal lock to be the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA draft.

Only one reporter will be allowed to attend Tuesday’s announcement – Grant Traylor of the Herald Dispatch in Huntington, West Virginia. He’s covered Wiggins this season at Huntington Prep. (Here’s how he’s covered Wiggins.) Want ground zero of Andrew Wiggins mania? Check out Traylor’s twitter mentions. People are losing their mind over this decision. Traylor has gained about 6,000 followers in 12 hours, and I fully expect him to appear on ESPN Tuesday.

Back to Wiggins. How refreshing! A high school star (not a maybe-he’ll-be-a-star type, but a legit superstar) shunning the announcement on ESPN and keeping the media at bay. I love this kid already.
