Alayna Adams, a 9-year old from Dunedin, Florida, threw out the first pitch at Thursday night’s Rays – Red Sox game. Before she threw out the first pitch, she got to watch a special message on the big screen from her father, Lt. Col. Will Adams. Alayna thought her dad was still in Afghanistan. Nope. He was the guy wearing the mask behind the plate. He caught the ball, removed his mask and from there it was all waterworks. The Tampa Bay Times has details of the combined efforts of the Rays and the USO to surprise Alayna.
