Canadian Singer Butchers Star-Spangled Banner at Junior Hockey Championships [Video]

Canadian singer Alexis Normand booked her place next to Carl Lewis, Roseanne Barr and all others who’ve had the misfortune to botch the words of Francis Scott Key before a sporting event.
This time “The Star-Spangled Banner” was mangled before the puck dropped in the Memorial Cup junior hockey championships between the Halifax Mooseheads and Portland Winterhawks Saturday in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Normand started out okay, but once the wheels began to fall off around the third line it only grew worse and worse.
On the plus side, the crowd — after a few initial cat calls — helped Normand finish the out song.
Normand took to Twitter to apologize.
I'm embarrassed and deeply sorry. I wish I'd had more time to learn the American anthem. Thanks so much for the crowd's help! #memorialcup

Maybe she was just a big fan of the first “Naked Gun” movie.
