Clay Buchholz Injured Himself Sleeping, Missed Start vs. Phillies

Remember when Mike Pelfrey hurt himself while dangerously falling asleep in his seat on a flight to San Francisco? Or when Chris Coghlan took a trip to the DL after risking his life by throwing a pie in his teammate’s face? How about Geoff Blum tragically going down for the count while putting on his shirt? And who could forget Russell Branyan missing a couple games after aggressively closing the curtains? It’s a special list of players with very special injuries, and it’s a list that absolutely has no end in sight.

Please offer up a warm welcome to Clay Buchholz, who found the courage to join this acclaimed group of individuals over the weekend. Buchholz was scratched from his start against Philadelphia today due to an “irritation in his right AC joint in the collarbone area,” more commonly known as “I slept funny.”
