Spurs Win Over Heat: 10.6 Overnight TV Rating, Down From Durant vs. LeBron in 2012

San Antonio Spurs v Miami Heat - Game OneSan Antonio 92, Miami 88 was gorgeous basketball, close throughout, and went down to the final seconds. The result? A solid overnight rating: 10.6, the 3rd highest since 2004. The number is actually down from 2011’s Game 1 (Miami vs. Dallas: 10.7) and 2012’s Game 1 monster (Miami vs. Oklahoma City: 11.8).

San Antonio, always a weak TV draw (I know, I know, who cares), has been in the Finals on ABC four times (03, 05, 07), and this was the highest Game 1 TV rating the Spurs have had, according to an ESPN spokesman.

Game 2 is Sunday night at 8 pm.
