John Lackey and the Rays’ bench exchanged words early in the game. In the bottom of the sixth, Lackey plunked Matt Joyce – who homered in the first inning – in the back. Joyce took exception and gestured towards Lackey. That was enough to clear the benches. Warnings were issued to both teams by umpire John Hallion and the game resumed without any ejections. Not much of a fight.
