Two Arizona State Sun Devil football players were arrested in unrelated incidents….

Andres Garcia, a walk-on safety, allegedly shoved a 21-year-old woman into a wall so hard she was knocked unconscious and later allegedly sexually assaulted her after she had been placed in a bedroom. Garcia was dismissed from the team.

"“They were out that night at various bars,” said Tempe Police Sgt. Michael Pooley. “He got upset, they began arguing with each other, she tried to get around him at which time he pushed her in the chest and he pushed her with quite a good amount of force that she went back, flew into a wall and she was knocked out unconscious.” When they arrived and set the victim in her bedroom, Garcia asked to speak to the victim alone, police said. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her. Pooley said the victim was unable to give consent. Garcia was booked into the Tempe City Jail."

Junior Onyeali, a senior defensive end, was charged with “criminal damage” for smashing his girlfriend’s windshield with a wooden board. Onyeali had six sacks and eight tackles for loss last season.
