Jeff Baker Suffers Thumb Injury Giving Teammate a High-Five, Goes on the Disabled List

Texas Rangers v Boston Red SoxJeff Baker, a utility player for the Texas Rangers, suffered a thumb injury giving a teammate a high-five recently, and is headed to the disabled list. Yes, he’ll miss around two weeks following a high-five. This is why we have a “pathetic injuries” category:

Baker, who is dealing with a sprained right thumb that he suffered in an exchange with an “over-exuberant” teammate, received a cortisone injection on Saturday but had not seen significant relief from the treatment.
