Astros Fan Tries to Catch Foul Ball, Gets Drilled in the Head [Video]
By Mike Cardillo
The Houston Astros aren’t very good. We’ve known this all season. Their 12-0 loss to the Rays Monday dropped Houston’s record to 30-53, and it has an MLB-worst .361 win percentage.
One of the perks of attending an Astros game at Minute Maid Park this season is you shouldn’t have too much competition for foul balls. Their attendance is putrid – 18,000 fans per game, or 27th in baseball. That didn’t help this particular fan too much on a foul ball hit by the Rays’ Matt Joyce in the eighth inning Monday night, as it drilled him in the top of the head and dropped him like a sack of bricks.
At least he didn’t fall over the railing. As always you have to ask yourself, is trying to secure a ball at a baseball worth losing your humanity and or dignity?
