This popped up on Reddit Monday. The Redditor says this is a t-shirt that his father wore to a Purdue – Notre Dame game in the 80’s. The picture on the t-shirt depicts the Irish mascot servicing the Purdue Boilermaker. You would think this wouldn’t happen today, but if you look at the previous posts below – yeah, it totally would. In fact, we’ll probably see a few replica t-shirts show up in West Lafayette on September 14th.
In case you were curious … The Fighting Irish hold a 56-26-2 all-time series lead over the Boilermakers. In the 80’s, Notre Dame won 7 out of 10 meetings with the Irish outscoring Purdue 361-146 over the decade. If this shirt was worn in ’81, ’84 or ’85 though? FACE!
