Aaron Hernandez: Police Referenced Cocaine in Search of Secret Hernandez Apartment

Aaron Hernandez at arraignment

Aaron Hernandez had what is described as a “secret flophouse”, according to the Boston Herald. This information comes from a search warrant executed after Carlos Ortiz, one of the other men charged in relation to the Odin Lloyd murder, flipped and told them that a cell phone was left at a secret flophouse or apartment in Franklin, Massachusetts.

Included in the request for the warrant to search all persons at that property was a reference to cocaine: “the nature of the sale of Cocaine is such that the participants are constantly changing, Cocaine is commonly packaged in small plastic bags which are easily and likely concealed on one’s person(s).”

The search was executed on the day Hernandez was arrested and charged with first degree murder. Among the items found at the apartment were a hooded sweatshirt that appeared like the one he had on in the video the night of the murder, and a hat that he had been known to wear and was seen wearing in a local news report. There was no reference that drugs were actually found at the location, though eleven boxes ammunition were found.
