El Súper Clásico Brawl: Club América & Chivas Fans Fight on the Field Postgame in Las Vegas [Video]

Club América and Las Chivas met inside Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium on Wednesday. The clubs’ supporters also met. First in the parking lot – fans threw “rocks the size of baseball” and bottles and the police had to get involved. Then inside the stadium after the game on the field. From the Las Vegas Sun:

Chivas fans blasted off fireworks in the stands; Club America fans tossed half-filled Bud Light bottles and streamers onto the field. Then came the fans. At first one or two trickled onto the field and were carried off.

Then came the flood. Fans overran the field. They threw beer bottles at each other, and kicked each other in the face.

According to police scanner traffic, a large crowd in the stands was throwing objects at officers tending to an injured fan. More officers were called in to deal with the perpetrators.

What wonderful people.

Chivas won the match 1-0 so their fans will have bragging rights while kicking and/or being kicked in the head for the near future.
