Kevin Durant  got engaged to Monica Wright over the weekend, according to this report from HollywoodLife.com via Media Takeout. Monica Wright is a 5’10” guard/forward for the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA and was a star college player at the University of Virginia. The two have been friends since 2006, when they met at the McDonald’s High School All-American games when both were participating. Both were selected second overall in their respective NBA/WNBA drafts. Durant traveled to Minnesota to watch Wright play, after the Thunder’s season ended in May.

Reports began to emerge that the two were dating in May, after those events. According to Hollywood Life, Durant even tweeted about getting together with Wright back in 2011.

"After being close friends since high school, linked by their successful basketball careers, the couple reportedly took things to the next level months ago. But romance has long been on Kevin’s mind: in 2011 he tweeted, “Or maybe I need a basketball playing girlfriend…hmm lol…monica wright where r u(love and basketball.”"

Not to put too much pressure on the future offspring, but we can probably pencil in the first born Durant-Wright child for the first overall selection in the 2033 NBA Draft . . . or WNBA Draft.
