George Zimmerman was found not guilty for the murder of Trayvon Martin last night. The sports world reacted, pretty much the same way everyone else did. Responses were intense, visceral and often broke across racial and political lines. The King, though he responded at the time of the shooting, stayed out of the fray.
Victor Cruz tweeted and then hastily deleted this, which survives in retweets.
Thoroughly confused. Zimmerman doesn’t last a year before the hood catches up to him.

Miami outfielder Bryan Petersen urged respect for the justice system.
If you trusted the justice system to find a man guilty, you must trust it when it finds a man not guilty, or it’s just partiality you seek — Bryan Petersen (@Peteypipes) July 14, 2013
James Harrison highlighted the inequity of the justice system.

Who really failed here? The prosecution? The jury? No. The laws in the state of FL failed. Be constructive in response. Focus on change.

Darnell Dockett echoed Victor Cruz’ sentiment.
