Jadeveon Clowney: 20 Voters Did Not Have Him on All-SEC Team

Jadeveon Clowney South Carolina

According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, 20 of the 243 media voters did not have South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney listed on their All-SEC first team. We appreciate bucking convention. Sometimes, “great NFL prospect” does not precisely equal “great college football player.” That said, what sport are you fellows watching?

Chris Smith, Arkansas. Alvin Dupree, Kentucky. We mention them, because they are the only two returning defensive lineman in the SEC who managed half of Clowney’s production considering sacks and tackles for loss in 2012. Don’t like stats? We submit the eyeball test. It’s not clear how you wouldn’t pick him for an All-American team.

We second McMurphy’s call for naming and potential shaming. We would also call for written explanations.
