Art Monk and Darrell Green, two Washington Redskin football legends, appeared this morning on WTOP, as we get ready for the start of training camp. The topic of the Washington Redskins name came up, and both weighed in with opinions that Roger Goodell and Daniel Snyder are not going to like.
“[If] Native Americans feel like Redskins or the Chiefs or [another] name is offensive to them, then who are we to say to them ‘No, it’s not’?” said Art Monk.
“It deserves and warrants conversation because somebody is saying, ‘Hey, this offends me,’” said Darrell Green.
Monk also added that a name change should be “seriously considered.”
