Miguel Sano is one of the Minnesota Twins top prospects. Sano, a third baseman for the New Britain Rock Cats, was benched following a 29-second home run trot. The home run pulled his team within one in a game against the Portland Sea Dogs. According to Wezen-Ball.com’s Trot Tracker, Sano’s saunter around the bases would put him in the Top 10 slowest trips around the bases this season with such esteemed company as Todd Helton, Josh Donaldson, David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz, David Ortiz and David Ortiz. (Though David Ortiz would get bumped down to #11 if Sano’s trot counted.)

From the Pioneer Press:

“Just a normal player-development decision,” Steil said, declining to characterize the misdeed. “We have discipline for all sorts of things that we do. This is one of them. He’s not going to play for a few games.”

The 21-year old has 26 minor league home runs this season in 93 games.
