Josh Hamilton Rode a BART Train to Angels' Game in Oakland

Josh Hamilton's sac fly was the highlight of his night

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton was forced to ride the BART last night to his game against Oakland like a much less famous person after authorities closed the Bay Bridge to investigate a suspicious device.

The rest of the Halos’ starting lineup caught an early shuttle out to O.Co Coliseum, but Hamilton didn’t quite make it down to the lobby of the team’s hotel in time.

Hamilton then called a quick audible.

“I walked straight to the BART station,” Hamilton said. “You gotta make adjustments, baby.”

Was it the first time Hamilton, who played five years in Texas, took public transportation to the stadium in Oakland?

“No, what do you think, I’m spoiled?” he joked. “The Rangers used to have only one bus, so we took BART all the time. No one even recognized me. It was cool.”

Well, almost no one.

Don’t expect Hamilton to make a habit of bumming it on public transportation. His 1-for-5 performance in a 6-4 loss probably won’t make him too superstitious.
