Mark Sanchez. Interception. Touchdown, Lions.

In a sight that has become disgusting familiar to Jets fans over the last two years, QB Mark Sanchez opened the 2013 preseason the way he labored through the end of the 2012 season – with a pick-six. This was his second pass attempt of the game. It came on the first series. The pass was in the general vicinity of nobody; Detroit’s first round pick, Ziggy Ansah from BYU, made an acrobatic play to return it for a touchdown.

Sanchez had 26 turnovers in each of the last two seasons, and will obviously be a short leash this season – assuming he wins the starting job – with rookie Geno Smith lurking.

Sanchez did redeem himself – somewhat – two drives later with a TD pass to Jeff Cumberland, and finished the game 10-of-13. But all anyone will remember is this terrible pick-six. [video via Jimmy Traina]
