Justin Blackmon continues to make news for all the wrong reasons. He is already suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, and he has been on the PUP list after groin surgery. On Friday night, in the game against Miami, he had to be escorted to the locker room by Maurice Jones-Drew. The incident is believed to have begun when Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll made a tackle right along the sideline near Blackmon, who was watching in street clothes.
“You know how it is in the preseason,” Bradley said. “Sometimes a player talks to the sideline. It started off as just banter and I just addressed it. I turned to him and said, ‘There’s no place [for that]. I’d rather you use your energy to encourage our guys and not get caught in that.’
Depending on who you believe, though, the incident may have escalated when Blackmon got into a discussion with teammate Jason Babin in regard to his actions.
Story I got: Blackmon & Carroll jawing. Babin tells Blackmon to pipe down since he’s suspended 4 games. Blackmon turns on Babin. #Jaguars
