Von Miller, the star linebacker of the Denver Broncos, was arrested Sunday at a gun club in Denver over an outstanding traffic warrant. Court records show Miller was cited for “careless driving, driving without a license, and no proof of insurance” in October, but never showed up in court. So when he went to the gun club over the weekend, and a background check was run – it sounds like he was trying to purchase a weapon, but that’s not clear – police showed up to arrest him.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Miller, who is facing a 4-game suspension to start the 2013 season over “violation of league policy.” Miller, the No. 2 pick out of Texas A&M in 2011, had 11.5 sacks as a rookie, and 18.5 last year. In 2011, Miller reportedly tested positive for marijuana and amphetamines. [via The Denver Channel]
