Barcelona is one of the best soccer clubs in the world. Chances are they will finish, surprise, either first or second in La Liga this year. Sunday Barca kicked off their 2013-14 campaign with a 7-0 destruction of Levante. Some 1980s WWF jobbers put up a stronger resistance to Hulk Hogan and Macho Man compared to this tepid effort.

Lionel Messi opened his account with two goals in the first half, as Barca led 6-0 after 45 minutes. Pedro started the scoring with a goal inside of three minutes. The Catalans, now managed by Gerardo Martino, made sure to add the extra point in the second half. The ease in which Barcelona scored almost makes you want to scream in the vein of Krusty the Clown watching the Harlem Globetrotters take on the Washington Generals.

Neymar made his debut as a second half sub and didn’t score.

Messi’s first-half nutmeg on a Levante defender made the visitors look even more foolish. His first-half pass that knifed through seemingly the entire defense to set up Pedro’s second goal was the pick of the litter.
