Cincinnati Bengals Take Late Lead on Wild Fourth Down Play that Featured Two Fumbles
By Jason Lisk
Green Bay faced a 4th and inches with a field goal lead, in scoring territory. Detroit just faced the exact same situation in Washington a minute earlier, went for it, and picked it up on a sneak to drain more clock and try to seal the game.
It did not work out so well for Green Bay. Johnathan Franklin, in the game because of injuries to Eddie Lacy and James Starks, fumbles trying to leap for the first down. The ball is then picked up, fumbled by Reggie Nelson, and then takes a perfect bounce to Terence Newman for the touchdown return.
Green Bay now gets to take the field for a game winning drive attempt, after looking to ice the game with a first down.
