Lane Kiffin was fired by USC after his Trojans were dismantled, 62-41 by Arizona State Saturday night. Kiffin, who stood on the sideline and made frustrated faces all night as his porous defense gave up 610 yards, was informed of his termination by AD Pat Haden after his team flew back to LA early Sunday morning.

USC’s website broke the news of Kiffin’s firing.

[UPDATE: According to Inside USC, Pat Haden and other school officials met Kiffin at the LAX parking lot to fire him. Probably because they could not intercept the plane and do it 3,000 feet above the air, then give him a parachute and tell him to jump.]
