The government shutdown will probably cost billions of dollars. But, perhaps more importantly, it may affect the college football schedule. Air Force is scheduled to play Navy in Annapolis at 11:30am on Saturday. The trouble is upperclassmen at Air Force are considered military personnel, which means they may have their travel restricted. As of this morning, officials at the Air Force and Naval Academies could not confirm the game will take place.

This game would not be easy to reschedule. Navy has two bye weeks Nov. 30 and Dec. 7. Air Force has a game with Colorado State the first week and the second week would conflict with the Mountain West title game. Playing the following week would also be impossible, as Navy plays Army.

Why couldn’t they have waited till the end of the season, PAWL?
