Paul Rhoads Went Off At Big 12 Officials About No Fumble Call Against Texas

Texas RB Johnathan Gray had a controversial no fumble call on the Iowa State one yard line. Texas kept the ball, and scored a go-ahead touchdown for the 31-30 win. Paul Rhoads was not happy about the call after the game. We’d transcribe, but his tone says far more than his words.

As for the call, it’s not clear what the ruling was. As Mike Pereira points out, if he was ruled down by forward progress, there shouldn’t have been a review. If he was ruled down by contact, the call should have been overturned. He was not down. The ball was fumbled.
