Adrian Peterson says he will play this week against Panthers and asked for privacy while dealing with the issue surrounding his 2-year-old son who was hospitalized after being abused by a man dating the child’s mother.
“I appreciate the support that I’ve received from all the fans and the Vikings organization. You know, this is a private matter and I ask that y’all please respect my privacy and not ask at all about the situation at hand.
“I will be playing Sunday.”
The individual in question, 27-year-old Joseph Patterson, has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated assault of an infant. Patterson’s bond has been set at $750,000.
Update: According to Sioux Falls police, Adrian Peterson’s son has passed away.
