Antti Niemi Made an Incredible Pad Save Against Todd Bertuzzi in a Shootout

As far as pad saves go, people will probably be writing songs about this one. Logan Couture scored in the second round of the San Jose – Detroit shootout, so all Antti Niemi needed to do was stop Todd Bertuzzi and the game was over. Bertuzzi faked out Niemi and appeared to have a fairly wide open net. Somehow, Niemi, lying on his stomach kicked his pad up at the perfect time and blocked Bertuzzi’s shot. You can tell the save is great because the announcers get more and more excited with each replay.
