Louis Delmas is Parting Ways With His Pet Alligator After Five Storied Years

Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas has decided to call it quits with his six-foot long pet alligator, Mojo, despite the affable reptile’s charismatic smile.

The five-year-old gator had been a gift from former teammate Ernie Sims during Delmas’ rookie season in 2008, and they’ve been roommates ever since. Sadly, it’s time for Mojo to start a new chapter because Delmas has a new roommate in Kevin Ogletree, and the idea of living with an alligator — especially a confident one with a scene-stealing presence like Mojo — was far too much for the newly signed wide receiver to handle.

Mojo and his illustrious 36-square-foot tank have already taken up residence at a local “critter” shop and could eventually end up at the Detroit zoo.

The more you know? Indeed. This is precisely the type of news nugget that causes the brief jingle to happily play in my head.
