Dexter Manley Called Troy Aikman 'Queer' and Won't Return as a Guest on Radio Station

Dexter Manley, one of the most dangerous pass-rushers in the 1980s, remains a legend in Washington DC. Winning two Super Bowls will do that for you. Setting a franchise record for sacks in a season (18.5) will keep the flame alive 30 years later. Besides excelling at football, Manley admitted to being illiterate, was kicked out of the NFL for failing drug tests, and spent time in prison for possession of cocaine.

So Manley appeared on WTOP radio in DC this morning, and when asked about the Redskins caving in Denver, and giving up 31 points, this happened:

"“Was it a big jinx that Troy Aikman was doing the game, the former Cowboy?” Manley was asked at the end of the segment. “I think Troy was a queer,” Manley said. The hosts immediately made it clear that this wasn’t a topic for humor, and encouraged Manley to step back. “I’m sorry about that,” he said. “I take that back….I apologize.”"
