Portland Timbers Owner Merritt Paulson Pulled a Perfect Troll on the Seattle Sounders
By Mike Cardillo

Ah, MLS … where owners can get away with trolling an entire fan base.
Tonight Pacific Northwest rivals the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders face off in a Western Conference semifinal at Jeld-Wen Field. Portland leads 2-1 after the first leg last Saturday in Seattle. That game was played at Century Link Field, which was decked out in full-on NFL gridiron lines. So for all the great atmosphere and 40,000+ chanting fans, there were the unsightly lines all over the field which we might have seen during a 1998 MLS playoff game at Giants Stadium.
Timbers owner Merritt Paulson took to Twitter to tweak Seattle over the unappealing gridiron lines.
At risk of giving away one of Caleb's strategies, we plan to confuse seattle w a field lined only for soccer pic.twitter.com/p79ST3VekN

Well played, Paulson. Well played.
