Arian Foster is officially done for the season and will undergo back surgery to repair a lumbar spine issue. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Texans running back had initially hoped to avoid going under the knife, but visits to several specialists all resulted with surgery as the next step.

Taking Foster’s place will be Ben Tate, the lucky owner of four cracked ribs. Sounds promising.

The Texans, sitting at 2-6 and facing Arizona this afternoon, appear to have less hope than your reeling fantasy team, which of course brings us to that all important question. The game beyond the game, if you will.
