Colin Kaepernick Got Called for the Rare Quarterback Face Mask Personal Foul
By Jason Lisk
Two weeks ago, it was Peyton Manning getting called for holding while comically trying to prevent the fumble recovery. Today in rare penalties called on quarterbacks, it was Colin Kaepernick’s turn. Panthers rookie A.J. Klein came rushing in trying to prevent the rollout, and Kaepernick got the full face mask to hold him off.
By the way, for those inclined to be annoyed by Jim Harbaugh, he was vocally yelling that it should be offsetting penalties for matching face masks, even though Klein never grabbed Kaepernick. In the end, it didn’t matter, the Panthers declined the penalty after the incompletion rather than give San Francisco another down.
