Cristiano Ronaldo: Goal vs. Sweden Puts Portugal on Brink of World Cup
By Mike Cardillo
Cristiano Ronaldo put Portugal in the drive’s seat for the World Cup next summer. The Real Madrid super-duper star collected a ball from deep and make a trademark run, finishing with aplomb past keeper Andreas Isaksson. It put Portugal ahead 2-0 on aggregate in their World Cup playoff with Sweden.
Ronaldo scored in both legs of the playoff, last week with a diving header and Tuesday with this dash-and-smash which he made look effortless.
