Melvin Ejim of Iowa State fouled out late in the second half against BYU and before taking a seat on the bench, he gave the crowd a one-finger salute to show his appreciation. Iowa State was able to hold off BYU, 90-88, despite losing its two leading scorers Ejim (21 points) and senior guard DeAndre Kane (21 points, ejected). On the heels of the win over Michigan, this is a fantastic road win for the Cyclones, which will certainly come in handy during seeding time for the NCAA tournament.
Definitely lost my composure today. I apologize to the byu student section and Iowa state university. What I did was inexcusable and rude.
