Manchester United’s plane apparently had some trouble landing in Germany Tuesday ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen. The plane carrying the team and senior officials was about 1,300 feet (400 meters) from touching down until the pilot had to abort the landing since another plane was on the runway, the Telegraph reports.

The crisis was averted when the plane eventually touched down 10 minutes later. It seemed to leave veteran defender Rio Ferdinand rattled:

Manchester United has a tragic history with plane accidents due to the 1958 Munich air disaster which killed 23 people, including eight players.
