Video: Kevin McHale Obstructed a Tim Duncan Inbounds Pass and Gregg Popovich Went Berserk

I feel like there have been more instances of deliberate coaches’ interference this past week than I can cumulatively remember in my career as a sports fan. Following in the un-esteemed footsteps of Jason Kidd and Mike Tomlin, Kevin McHale tried (and failed) to impede a Tim Duncan inbounds pass late in the second quarter of last night’s 112-106 Rockets win in San Antonio.

And Gregg Popovich wasn’t psyched about McHale’s ruse. The Spurs coach received a technical for berating officials, and apparently confronted McHale at mid-court. Lamentably, Pop declined to discuss the incident after the game, but we did get something resembling an apology from McHale: “I probably should have gone and sat my big ass on the chair,” he said.
