The Florida Gators basketball team lost to UConn on Shabazz Napier’s buzzer-beater Monday night in Storrs. On Sunday, the Gators faced some complications getting out of Florida as their team charter was grounded for maintenance. No problem, the Gators just borrowed a plane from Delta to make the trip. Unfortunately, that came at the expense of a bunch of people who were scheduled to travel from Gainesville Regional Airport to Atlanta. Via The Gainesville Sun:
A passenger who was supposed to be on the flight to Atlanta before it was canceled and did not want to be identified told The Sun passengers were told there was a mechanical difficulty, but some of them noticed the Gators basketball team boarding the plane meant for them out the window.
No big deal, just a bunch of people traveling on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I’m sure they weren’t trying to get home to go back to work. Some passengers were booked on other flights while others drove to Jacksonville, Orlando or Tampa to take flights out of those airports. Karma, thy name is Shabazz. [via Gainesville Sun]
