Manchester United lost to Newcastle United Saturday at Old Trafford. It meant the club lost back-to-back home games for the first time since 2002. The loss proved to much to take for one man, if this report from Kenya is to be believed.

According to Capital Sports FM, John Macharia jumped from a seventh floor following the loss:

"“I confirm that we received the news of a young man who could not stand to see his Manchester United team lose, and instead decided he can die for the sake of a team that is miles far away in Europe. “We are treating this matter as a case and since this is not the first time we have received such cases, I wish to advice football fans in our country to rather support Harambee Stars than those teams in England who does not recognize them,” the Police boss told Capital Sport."

The media outlet also recounts how an Arsenal fan hung himself in May 2009 following a loss to Manchester United in the Champions League semifinals.

Reporting here seems a little dubious, but if it’s true it goes without saying that fans shouldn’t take this stuff so seriously. [H/T World Soccer Talk]
