Mack Brown has resigned as the head coach of the University of Texas football team according to the Longhorn Network. He has informed recruits, and will coach the team during the bowl game before stepping down. On his way out the door, Brown fired a shot at the program, saying it was being “pulled in different directions.”

This comes less than 24 hours after Nick Saban signed an extension and Alabama and claimed that he “never considered going to Texas.” Saban said that Mack deserved to leave the program the way he wanted. Apparently, Mack wanted to leave just a few days after the rumor mill got turning full speed.

Brown, in a statement, said that the program was being pulled in different directions.
