Andy Carroll, West Ham United’s English striker, tweeted out this image of his dip in the club’s cold tub today. Yes, he compared himself to Jesus. Carroll has spent most of the 2013-14 season on the sidelines through injury, so this photo is probably his biggest contribution to the club to date.
Bear in mind, his £35 million move from Newcastle United to Liverpool in January 2011 remains the highest-price ever paid for an English soccer player. That much money would probably give anyone a messiah complex.
