Tony Romo won’t play in Sunday’s game against the Eagles after all. Tuesday news broke the Cowboys quarterback suffered a back injury last week vs. the Redskins. In the days that followed building up to the NFC East-decider with Philadelphia, Dallas was coy about the injury.

Now we know for certain, Romo is on IR after back surgery, meaning Kyle Orton will start Sunday night. Jon Kitna, 41 years out and fresh out of retirement, will back him up.

Alas, the never-ending Romo narrative will have to wait until 2014 to continue.
