Cody Zeller, the Charlotte rookie forward from Indiana, hasn’t really been a factor for the Bobcats through the first 33 games. Coming off the bench, he’s playing about 17 minutes a night, but shooting a woeful 36 percent, which isn’t something you want out of your backup power forward/center. How challenging must it be for a 7-footer to make only 1/3 of his shots, when all he’s doing is mostly taking shots around the rim?
At any rate, Zeller’s season-defining moment happened against the Clippers Wednesday night when he appeared to be headed for a monster dunk – watch the Charlotte bench rise in anticipation – and then was “rejected by the equipment.” Tough one, rookie.
